Remarks: Poteat may travel to Columbus, Georgia; Alabama; and South Carolina. CAUTION Jack Allen Poteat is wanted for his alleged involvement in sexual activities with a 13-year-old girl in Monroe, North Carolina, in March of 1999. Poteat was arrested and released on bond. Poteat was indicted by the Superior Court, State of North Carolina, County of Union on June 5, 1999, for first degree statutory rape, first degree statutory sex offense, indecent liberties with a minor, and crime against nature. Poteat failed to appear for his jury trial on October 19, 1999, and a local warrant was issued for his arrest. A federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court, Western District of North Carolina, on July 7, 2000, after Poteat was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
