LAWRENCE EDWARD HACK
UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID PROSECUTION - SEXUAL ABUSE IN THE FIRST DEGREE



Lawrence Edward Hack was wanted for allegedly molesting a nine-year-old girl in Malheur County, Oregon. He was indicted on three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree on September 24, 2001, by a grand jury in Malheur County. Hack failed to appear for a hearing on February 7, 2002, and, at that time, the judge issued an arrest warrant. Hack also failed to appear for trial on the sexual abuse charges on February 26, 2002. A federal arrest warrant charging Hack with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was then issued in the District of Oregon, on April 11, 2002.


January 13, 2004

LAS VEGAS — The United States Marshal for the District of Nevada, Richard Z. Winget, announced the capture of fugitive Lawrence Edward HACK. HACK was indicted on three counts of Sexual Abuse in the first degree on September 24, 2001, by a grand jury in Malheur County, Oregon. HACK is accused of molesting a neighbors nine year daughter who would visit his home to play with his own daughter. After Hack failed to appear for a hearing and his trial in February of 2002, a warrant was issued for HACK’s arrest. A federal arrest warrant charging HACK with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution was issued in the District of Oregon, on April 11, 2002.

Information about the location of HACK was developed by the U.S. Marshals Service in West Virginia and was forwarded to the U.S. Marshals Service. The Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team (NV-FIST) was assigned the case. NV-FIST, a cooperative effort between the Marshals Service, L.V.M.P.D., A.T.F. and the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation, located HACK who was using an alias and living with his wife and daughter in a apartment in the area of Tropicana and Pecos where he was arrested without incident. HACK was transported and booked in to the Clark County Detention Center for processing and is awaiting extradition to Oregon.
